VEX IQ
The Game:
VEX IQ Challenge Rise Above is played on a 6’ x 8’ rectangular field configured as seen above. Two robots compete in the Teamwork Challenge as an alliance in 60 second long teamwork matches, working collaboratively to score points.
Teams also compete in the Robot Skills Challenge where one robot takes the field to score as many points as possible. These matches consist of Driving Skills Matches, which will be entirely driver controlled, and Programming Skills Matches, which will be autonomous with limited human interaction.
The object of the game is to attain the highest score by Scoring and Stacking Risers in Goals, Completing Rows, and Completing Stacks.
Scoring Details:
The scoring objects in VEX IQ Challenge Rise Above are 8.7” (22.1 cm) tall Risers. There are a total of (27) Risers on the field. The object of the game is to score as many points as possible with your alliance partner by scoring Risers in Goals, completing Rows and completing Stacks.
Each Riser scored inside a Goal: 1 point
Each Completed Row: 3 points
Each Completed Stack: 30 points

Age of Participants:
There are two age categories for this competition: elementary school (ES) and middle school (MS). A team is considered as an ES team if all members are born on or after May 1, 2008. Likewise, a team is considered to be a MS team if all members are born on or after May 1, 2005.
**IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT PARTICIPATION IN VEX**
The VEX competition at this event is the Kazakhstan National VEX Championship. At this competition two VEX IQ teams will be chosen to represent Kazakhstan at the VEX Robotics World Championship to be held April 27-29, 2021, in the United States. These teams will be the winners of the “Excellence Award: Elementary School” and “Excellence Award: Middle School”. The excellence award is given to the team that demonstrates overall excellence in competition and design. Please note that an engineering notebook is required to be considered for these awards. To be eligible to compete, teams must be registered VEX teams, and must officially register for the Kazakhstan National VEX Championship here.

January 7th 1300-1800: Registration / Inspection / Practice.
January 8th: 1000-1800: Practice / Skills competition
January 9th: 1000-1800: Practice / Skills competition
January 10th: 1000-1500: Unofficial Scrimmage (Kazakhstan only) / Online Award Ceremony
